I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. I went through the Calgary Catholic school system for elementary, Junior High and High school.
I have done volunteering with the Calgary minor soccer association, Nelly Mclung Elementary school and Louis Riel Elementary/ junior high school. I enjoyed helping children thrive and succeed. I also enjoy participating with in my community. I have worked with Feed the Hungry, Cups and have done a few runs for breast cancer. I also enjoying traveling around the world with my wife and my little boy.
As a Drama Major, I thoroughly enjoy the theatre and being a part of a team working together to make something amazing. I also enjoy watching movies, playing soccer, hockey, camping, travelling, meeting new people and spending time with family and friends.
How did I end up as a educator? I have always had a strong passion for those younger than myself. I enjoy witnessing students mature before my eyes as they find their place in this complex world. I realize how important my role as a teacher is to help my students achieve this but working on their social and cognitive development. I truly look forward to having a positive influence upon my students and possibly intriguing them to pursue being an educator themselves where they will say Mr. Cooke was my favorite teacher.
I look forward to inspiring my student, as I know they will certainly be inspiring me.
